‘The Tour for Duty’ event update
One of Gold Coast’s best Niche family events is all go with no adverse affects from Cyclone Debbie.
The event beneficiaries “the North Burleigh RSL” will be very happy that all systems are go .
I attended 2016 finish line festivities, and I have to say that this is a fantastic event like no other on the Gold Coast, a really great way to acknowledge and celebrate the ANZACS.
Where else are you going to get the “old Diggers” and all their medals clapping you across the line? Their smiles are reward enough, but to see them standing there ready to pose for a finish line photo, a chin-wag, and words of encouragement, it is simply fantastic.
The Savage family touch, with the homestyle cooking, and a specially labeled and dedicated Ale for “the Tour for Duty” did have me agreeing this is a great way to round out a Sunday morning and salute an ANZAC or two, but more on that later…
Bottom line, if you can make it, then do it, it’s just a good old fashioned experience that is more than worth the effort, and just remember this is more about camaraderie, family and friendship than anything else. The Tour for Duty is an experience

“Hi All
we drove the course over the weekend to check what cyclone Debbie left out in the two valleys. Other than the houses that were ravaged by flood waters the roads were spared any major damage. Clean up is well under way and should be completed well before the 23rd.
Spare a thought for those people who were affected on the day you ride.
