Nerang

Nerang is 12km from Surfers Paradise, a few kilometers from the Nerang train station, caters for walkers, horse riders and MTBers covering 1700 hectares.

AMB magazine have done a review of the trails and provide a great read for the area to be ridden –

http://ambmag.com.au/places-that-rock-nerang/

Currently there are only a handful of legal trails  but the plans are to have over 60k’s of authorised trail network-

http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/nerang/pdf/nerang-trail-map.pdf

Technically the place can be a challenge with lots of small and large hills, rocks and only partially groomed trails. Perhaps, in terms of difficulty, a level or two above the other popular tracks in this part of the State.

The most popular starting point is accessed by parking at the Nerang Velodrome on Hope Street and cutting through the middle of the facility (watch for traffic on the criterium circuit).

There are numerous trails through out this large forest and many people have gotten themsleves lost. Even regular riders can become disorientated at times due to the vast networks. The best way to learn about the riding and the trails is to join a social ride and have GCMTB members show you around.

TRAIL CARE SESSIONS-

On the last Sunday of the month there will be trail care days.

Please like the Nerang Trailc Care Alliance or GCMTB Club Facebook page/s and we’ll let you know when it is on.

Please note the parking along North Street is no longer available. If you are starting in this area please park at the Velodrome (Hope Street).
